Terms
Last updated 20 October 2026
This document may change as Chesto evolves. When a change matters, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect; the date above is the latest version. Please check back from time to time.
These terms are an agreement between you and Fernando Vásquez, a sole trader in Spain, who makes Chesto. They cover the Chesto app and Chesto Pro. When you tap Agree and continue in the app, or use Chesto, you accept them. If you don’t agree, don’t use Chesto.
1. Who can use Chesto
You must be at least 14 years old. If you’re under 18, you need a parent’s or guardian’s permission to subscribe to Chesto Pro. You need an account: you sign in with a one-time code sent to your email, so keep your email account secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
2. Your username
Your username (shown as @name) and your avatar are what other people see of you; your email address stays private. Don’t pick a username that pretends to be someone else, uses another person’s or brand’s name without the right to, or is offensive. Some names are reserved. We may change or take back a username that breaks these rules.
3. House rules
Chesto has zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive behaviour. You agree not to save, share or send, through bookmarks, tags, collections, usernames, avatars or invites, anything that:
- is illegal, or promotes or helps with something illegal;
- sexually exploits or endangers children, in any way;
- is sexually explicit, or shows graphic violence;
- harasses, threatens, bullies or demeans anyone, or attacks people for who they are (hate speech);
- is spam, including inviting people who don’t know you, or repeated unwanted invites;
- pretends to be someone else, or misleads people about who you are;
- infringes someone else’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights;
- contains malware, phishing or links meant to deceive or harm.
Don’t try to break, overload or get around Chesto’s security, limits or other people’s privacy, and don’t use automated means to create accounts or look people up.
4. Reporting, blocking and moderation
You can report a person, a bookmark someone added or an invite from inside the app, and block anyone: they won’t be able to find or invite you, and you won’t see what they add. You can also write to [email protected]. We review every report within 24 hours. If something breaks these rules we remove it, and we may suspend or delete the account responsible, without notice when the harm is serious. Where the law requires it, we report illegal content to the authorities.
5. Your content
What you save stays yours. You give us a licence to store, copy and show it only as needed to run Chesto for you and for the people you choose to share it with; the licence ends when you delete it or your account (copies in backups disappear within the backup period in our privacy policy). You’re responsible for what you save and share, and you confirm you have the right to.
6. Links and previews
Bookmarks point to other people’s websites. To show a preview, Chesto reads the title and preview picture each page publishes for sharing. We don’t control those websites or their content and aren’t responsible for them. If you own something shown in Chesto and want it removed, write to [email protected] with the link and the reason, and we’ll act on valid notices promptly.
7. Shared collections
When you share a collection, its members see everything in it; editors can add and remove bookmarks. Bookmarks someone adds remain theirs: only they edit them, and they’re removed if that person deletes their account. Owners can remove members at any time, and members can leave. If the owner’s Chesto Pro ends, their shared collections become read-only for everyone until they subscribe again or remove all members.
8. Free and Chesto Pro
The free plan includes up to 8 collections of 25 bookmarks each. Chesto Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, billed monthly or yearly through the App Store (or Google Play), at the price shown before you buy. It renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, in your store account settings; deleting your Chesto account doesn’t cancel it. A free trial, if offered, becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before. Payments, refunds and your legal right to withdraw from the purchase are handled by Apple or Google under their terms. If you go back to Free, nothing you saved is deleted, but collections over the limits stop taking new bookmarks.
9. Changes to Chesto
We keep improving Chesto, so features can change. If we remove something you pay for, we’ll tell you in advance. We work to keep Chesto running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors; keep your own copy of anything important (Settings › Export bookmarks).
10. Ending things
You can stop using Chesto and delete your account at any time in Settings › Delete account. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put others at risk; unless the law or safety prevents it, we’ll tell you why.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow to be limited, such as for intent, gross negligence, or death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your rights as a consumer. Otherwise we aren’t liable for indirect or unforeseeable losses, and our total liability is limited to what you paid us for Chesto in the 12 months before the claim.
12. If you got Chesto from the App Store
- These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are responsible for Chesto and its content.
- Your licence to use Chesto is personal and non-transferable, on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store’s Usage Rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Chesto.
- If Chesto fails to meet a warranty that applies, you can tell Apple, which will refund the purchase price (if any); Apple has no other warranty obligation. Any other claims, losses or costs for a failure to meet a warranty are our responsibility, as far as the law makes them so.
- We, not Apple, handle any claims about Chesto, including product liability, failing to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy law.
- If someone claims Chesto infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending and settling it.
- You confirm you’re not in a country under a US government embargo or designated as supporting terrorism, and you’re not on a US government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- You must also follow the terms of any third-party service you use with Chesto, such as your email provider.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.

13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you’re a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts where you live. We’d always rather sort things out first: write to [email protected].
14. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. If you keep using Chesto after that, the new terms apply; if you don’t agree, you can delete your account.
